This is a great project to work on and I thought I'd share some of the work we've done over the last months for Lufthansa's Airbus A380 print and web campaign. It's an excerpt of what was done to this day, some more shots are going to be done in the next time.
Background photographs were taken by the photographer Jens Goerlich together with hdr environments, Vue was used to generate high-res panoramic images for the air-to-air shots. The A380 was rendered in 3dsmax and Brazil V2, postwork was done at mo postproduction.

I can't post high resolution images but some of them will be made available on Lufthansa's A380 website as downloadable wallpapers soon. There's also some additional info on the A380, so if you're interested in that huge airplane it's a great place to learn more about it. I recently had the idea of creating a scene of a place where all of the well known 3d gadgets would be collected...
maybe a lab in the colors of the cornell box where some mad scientists would breed stanford bunnies, the utah teapot with some coffee in it, a dog looking like the one in this old dire straits video and so on and so forth... if i only had the
time :-) Instead, i grabbed the teapot primitive and placed it in a museum somewhere in the future - let's say in the year 4011.

This is my attempt at producing a blinking product shot. Postproduction and compositing was done in Fusion due to the fantastic color correction possibilities and funky filters ;-)

Maybe it's worth mentioning that no lights were used here and the materials have no diffuse component. Only reflective materials were involved, a blurred HDR map and several white cards have been used to mimic the studio look. After having seen the car parking somewhere in my hometown, i couldn't resist to model a 3d version.
Having spent so much time on it, i finally rendered some studio moods and decided to call the project finished. The initial plan was to model an environment, maybe one day there will be enough time to do so.
It was a real fun to work on this and it was an even greater fun to render different perspectives and moods, since the car's topology simply looks great with any kind of reflections.

I was looking for a long time to find the proper kind of environment for the volvo model - a never ending story ;-)

This Volvo model already served me for a studio rendering. Due to the lack of time and a proper 3D environment (which i promised myself to model soon...) i used a HDR map together with a photography. HDR is taken with a SpheroCam, background photography taken by Aziz Wakim. A good bunch of photoshop postwork also.
